MICHAEL HERRICK MEMORIAL ROUND
This year for the Michael Herrick Memorial Round, the Marong FNC came up with the brilliant idea of both clubs teaming up to raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation in honour of Michael Herrick, who lost his life to this horrible disease.
Through spinning wheel raffles held at the pub last Friday night and shaker tins at the football sheds on Thursday night, the Pyramid Hill Football and Netball Club were able to raise $902.70 before the day to contribute towards Marong’s incredible total.
All of this would not have been possible without our incredible local businesses rallying together and providing extremely generous prizes for the raffles. A huge thank you to the Pyramid hill bakery cafe, Coffee Bank Pyramid Hill, Pyramid Hill Butchery, Miller’s Ag Supplies and Victoria Hotel, Pyramid Hill.
It is moments like this where football and netball is about so much more than a game. Thank you to the Marong Football and Netball Club for allowing us to be apart of something special honouring a mate Mick Herrick and raising money for a worthwhile cause the Leukaemia Foundation (Bruce Moon – PHFNC President)
Pyramid Hill was victorious in the senior match by a mere 9 points taking home the Michael Herrick Memorial Cup presented to captain Trent Barri, with the best on ground awarded to Pyramid Hill’s Andrew Dobby.
