After a great win last week the boys wanted to capitalise on the good start to the season with a win against the Superoos in Mitiamo. After a slow start the doggies really got going in the second, with four goals to Jack Woodward in the quarter. From there on the Bulldogs didn’t let up kicking 8 goals to 3 in the final term to go on to win by 55 points.

Congratulations to coach Lauren Gould and her girls today on an awesome match. There was great team work shown by all girls and it was fantastic to see everyone get involved up and down the court. The award went to Shamica – congratulations on your first game!
The under 13’s girls started off strong in the first quarter with the defence doing an incredible job and the passes up and down the court were on point. Going into the second quarter, the Doggies were strong, continuing their great passes with excellent team work taking the ball beautifully down the court and into the ring where the goalies shot accurately. The girls continued their great game play into the last two quarters and came out on top. Well done to Jasmine Twigg for a fantastic game! Pyramid Hill 29 d Mitiamo 6.
The Pups travelled to Miti for their second game of the season and they put on a show. It was a brilliant game and Coach Vicky gave all the girls the opportunity to have a shot in goals. Imogen’s intercepts made an awesome difference throughout the game and Erin’s performance was outstanding and showed immense improvement, leading the girls to victory for round two. Great work girls! The awards went to Imogen and Erin. Pyramid Hill 56 d Mitiamo 18.
Coming out of a good win last week against Bridgewater, Vicky and the team were prepared for the unknown against Mitiamo on Saturday. The girls had a 5 goal lead at the half time break but knew they needed to dig deep and find a bit more to be able to bring home another win. Amy shot with amazing accuracy with Ella always knowing where she needed to be in the ring to make the offer. Jorja, Jordann, Maddy and Kara worked hard in mid-court and owned it in the final quarter and Liv and Ally worked hard in defence for the entire game. A great 19 goal win at the sound of the final siren. Well done girls! Pyramid Hill 59 d Mitiamo 40. Best on was awarded to Amy and Ella.
What a stellar game the Pyramid’s C reserve girls had against Mitiamo. The first half of the game saw Pyramid come out very strong with the new shooting dream team, Mikayla and Tylah. Mikayla was on point with her accuracy and movement in the ring and Tylah asserted herself around the ring capturing rebounds and following through with accurate shots. The second half saw Miti start a come back, but with Pyramid maintaining incredible pressure all over the court, the Doggies kept their lead to come out with a strong, well deserved win! Best on was awarded to Tylah Thomas. Pyramid Hill 58 d Mitiamo 31.
It was a tough gig for the C grade Doggies, however the girls fought their hardest as the game went on and they never gave up, keeping their heads up the entire game. Hannah, Katelyn and Mikayla found their feet in the ring and shot some beautiful, accurate goals while Jess and Kell worked tirelessly together down the defensive end maintaining great pressure against a strong Mitiamo side. Great effort girls. The award went to Coach Kell, Kelly Gould, for her determination and consistency as a defender. Mitiamo 49 d Pyramid Hill 22.
The B grade girls took to the court with a few new faces in the team and worked well together during all four quarters. During the second half, Mitiamo were strong and lead by 20 at half time but Pyramid came out fresh in the third quarter after making some changes, creating improved flow of game play. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough, and Mitiamo kept a strong lead, taking home the win. There was great effort shown by all the Pyramid girls, but the luck was not their’s this week. Best on was awarded to Chelsea Mann. Mitiamo 54 d Pyramid Hill 31.
Round two saw Mitiamo capitalising from great defensive pressure at the centre passes. The Pyramid girls worked the ball around the ring beautifully and made the most of their goaling opportunities, with Bec and Amber winning some strong rebounds against the much taller Miti defenders. Hayley and Milly contested great all day, with Hayley taking home best on for the game. Great effort ladies. Mitiamo 65 d Pyramid Hill 33.
